Bioengineers Now Able To Write And Rewrite... →
Up until recently, bioengineers were only able to write data once to DNA, but Bioengineers at Stanford University have now discovered a way to write and rewrite data to a strand of DNA. “We can write and erase DNA in a living cell,” says Jerome Bonnet, a bioengineer at Stanford University. “Now we can bring logic and computation inside a cell itself.” Science is awesome.

Time Travel: Why are people from the future not...
This Quora thread is fantastic. Here’s the opening question, and it only gets better and better the further down the answers you go. Time travel technology is available in the future. The future is not yet here, but once it is, and time relocation becomes available, you may ask: If the future includes mastering time relocation technology, why haven’t people come back to visit...

An update on Jeff Hanneman, guitarist of Slayer →
itsmetal: Slayer fans everywhere - it’s time to let you know what is going on with our brother Jeff Hanneman. As you know, Jeff was bitten by a spider more than a year ago, but what you may not have known was that for a couple of days after he went to the ER, things were touch-and-go. There was talk that he might have to have his arm amputated, and we didn’t know if he was going to pull...

H.P. Lovecraft Answers Your Relationship Questions
Dear Howie, My girlfriend has metamorphosed into a kind of polyhedron with many pairs of feelers, membraneous wings, and fanged orifices on stalks. Should I talk to her about this, or keep hoping it’s just a phase? Snapshot enclosed. Amateur Photographer Dear Amateur Photographer: – I do not know long it was before I dared to inspect your snapshot. Once I did, I immediately...

How do you like your meat?
Bioengineers in the Netherlands are now growing meat in a laboratory where the future of food is being prepared – in a Petri dish Am I weird for thinking this is brilliant? Or do I just get stoked about sic-fi becoming real? And if that meat gained sentient thought, trying to take over the world, even better! via HackerNews
