High On Fire - Frost Hammer from Snakes For The Divine on iTunes
Such a great band.
They released Snakes For The Divine three years after the awesome Death Is This Communion while still maintaining a good progression and never forgetting whence they came. Death Is This Communion has kept me going for a good year.
I’m still finding it a great listen.
At the end of this post I’ll just give you a bit of a recommendation.
The latest episode of the Requiem Metal podcast highlights High On Fire and the whole is pretty much a must for any respecting metaller.
How many kids got swayed by the $666 price-tag for a quad cabin? I was considering it…

The line-up is awesome
PS there’s also a $289 charge on top of it.. Not for the skint.
The Ace Of Spades by Chris Wahl
!
Seriously.. There has to be a at least one heavy metal band in Central Africa.
What about Nigeria, the Congo, Guinea, Gambia […] ?
Number of metal bands per country per 100,000 people.
Central Africa’s got some catching up to do!
The map I posted a few days ago has been revamped by popular request to display the number of bands per capita, which in this case would be the number of bands per 100,000 people. Surprised about the deep red country? Neither am I!

Rick Santorum Declares War On Heavy Metal
Choice quotes are hard to avoid in this doozy of a rant by a politician who clearly deserves your votes because he knows what’s important to the people.
For the past week, Santorum has been using his campaign to take aim at an issue he feels to be the single most dangerous force in America today: Satanism in heavy metal. “If you listen to the radio today, many of these brand new, so-called heavy metal music bands like Black Sabbath, Venom, The WASP and Iron Maiden use satanic imagery to corrupt the minds of young people,”
Black Sabbath, Venom, The WASP [sic.] and Iron Maiden. So THAT’S what these young children are listening to nowadays.
In the past, Santorum has accused heavy metal of being the cause of some of the worst crimes in American history including the attempt on the life of Ronald Reagan in 1981, 9/11 and the passage of Obama’s Health Care Bill. He stepped up his rhetoric in a speech on Wednesday when he implied that heavy metal is the cause of many forms of mental illness as well as lactose intolerance.
I need to find my The WASPs albums and play them loud, because I’m getting way too tolerant of milk in my old age.
Here’s a picture of the bugger. Please notice the American flag in the background.
It’s lovely.
