High On Fire - Frost Hammer from Snakes For The Divine on iTunes
Such a great band.
They released Snakes For The Divine three years after the awesome Death Is This Communion while still maintaining a good progression and never forgetting whence they came. Death Is This Communion has kept me going for a good year.
I’m still finding it a great listen.
At the end of this post I’ll just give you a bit of a recommendation.
The latest episode of the Requiem Metal podcast highlights High On Fire and the whole is pretty much a must for any respecting metaller.
Another first for the Chookmeister! Top comment on a YouTube video.

Hot dang… Check out Lux’s other videos on YouTube
I always like to think I’ve seen it all, but then something like this pops up and I realise I’m wrong. I have never seen double bass drumming done in high heels.

Best podcast EVER, the Requiem Metal Podcast with Mark Rudolph
Seriously, if you haven’t listened to this podcast, and if you have any interest in people who talk about something they love and have researched, thought about and lived, you need to subscribe. The presenters really gel well.
I’m currently listening to episode: “091 Crucial Years in Metal: 1985”.
It starts off with “Aces High” moves into a long chat about Megadeth, Kim Basinger, James Bond, Tom Jones, Anthrax, Kreator, the German thrash metal scene, religion, record labels, magazines, Wayne’s World, Cannibal Corpse, memories of that year, interspersed with some great, sometimes lesser-known tracks. Fascinating.
Other episodes among – so far – 138, include:
I can’t wait for their “Tool”, “NWOBHM”, “Pantera”, “Motley Crüe” episodes..
Please listen, you’ll thank me. I insist?
